astanga yes truly limbs they are, ,

not asta sopanas, they are not steps

samadhi is the fundamental from which,

thru experience of which,

-----the limbs grow simultaneously in a natural way
there are no preliminary steps

directly samadhi is to be experienced right in the beginning

and the virtues will be blossoming as the intensity of samadhi deepens

this is to be understood  the tradition has been to give the initiation at the earliest young stage in life , enabling one to experience samadhi, directly, instantly without any preparatory steps. in a matter of a few days or a few weeks , in which his experience is checked errors corrected and he is left on his practice, fully validated to continue the practice over months, years

Initially the experience of samadhi is momentary,
he gets just a momentary glimpse of the pure awareness, the absolute, the parabrahma, beyond the entire range of the mind---and this one glimpse has given all the wisdom of million books in a moment. this is called lighting the inner lamp , which immediately removes all ignorance of the understanding of life, reveals to him the unified perspective in life, never to need of searching any more

This is called kshanika samadhi, a momentary experience of the state of samadhi for a fraction of a second in deep meditatin, with this one sitting , yes, he has become the enlightened, since his inner light is lit.
after his coming out , this experience will not sustain , so he has to again meditate , thus every morning, mid day and evening, thrikalsandhya.

as the practice of experience of samadhi grows, samadhi persists in his activity , stablelly

The experience of samadhi more and more , opens up all mental and physical potentialities or powers, this is called watering the root , sadhana regularly, sincerely, persistently, now is the time his body starts experiencing such flexibility ,agility, cordination ,health, and spontaneity, the astangas , 8 limbs start growing, his body mind becoming effortlessly n alinment with laws of nature, a virtuous life, a automatc self controlled life in his think talk walk

As the practice matures, this kshanika samadhi becomes nithya samadhi, 24x7, heightened awareness getting established in his body mind nervous sysetem, --unbroken samadhi prevails amidst al his dynamic activity , here he has gained ''yogastha kuru karmani---'' ie he acts while he is in fully samadhi and skill in action develops yogah karma sukaushalam

Thus pl understand that it is the samadhi first is the thing starting point in yoga sadhana , not the other limbs, nothing is prerequiite
this is placing the horse before the cart , and enabling the horse to make the cart to move and run efficiently.
it is generally misunderstood that we must be first virtuous to see god
no ,we must first experience god then his great virtues will be ours.
that is why the importance of samadhi first

otherwise it is cart before the horse, never is the possibility of cart moving a bit
most of dos and donts are result of this basic misunderstanding.
in matured sadhana level ,there are no imposed dos and donts by others or by self ---it is just a state of natural mastery over body mid resulting in all good behavoiur , a life in acc with laws of nature, no negative tendensies or nothing to set right, as things go just right

a great way of doing things

complete willingness to do

total involvement in doing

involving the might of almighty

collecting, consolidating and impinging

abundant rays of consciousness

each quantum of output

a masterpiece,

a classic,

a marvel,

saturated with the qualities of

that master craftsman,

the perfect creator

Yoga karma sukaushalam

If work is attempted with full attention, yoga, then one cognizes easy ways of doing things,

that is how tools techniques were developed

As long as man remains in ignorance, every action from him is faulty

so the solution is to get self realization first, foremost priority,

and there by ignorance vanishes, and so , life will be lead in divine wisdom

as if krishna is guiding arjun from within, showing him the right path, and giving him the ability to act as per dharma

without self realization any superficiality will be waste ,

life goes waste

only a lighted candle can give light, and light others

look alike glow worms are no help

attitude is a tight cloak

attitude is a tight cloak the mind wears, getting itself into self defeating modes of behavior , limiting and obstructing natural growth of self and the community.

To rectify this ,Our wise ceo , sent all the top executives to a residential course by the renowned management faculty -- p singh, asha bhandarkar---who authored the wonderful book ‘’corporate success and transformational leadership’’ in which we learned that it is essentially a simple defect of ‘’seeing non-existing faults in others’’ which was causing us wasting time in petty fights , blaming on other’s bad attitude

After the course we all felt how silly it was, and started feeling a warm relations with every one whom we had hated , our performance took new levels of excellence, and company achieved much needed turn-around

Our soul  mates can as well attend such courses and organize similar training to their circles and work towards good of social life

The need exists every where, we see never ending conflicts on every issue even with highly educated leaders between the participants . and can be resolved easily if practical steps are taken, if not bound to persist

Attention is the most valuable possession

attention has two characteristics, outward and inward

outward attention is branching, splitting, widening, , expanding, thinning, weakening,

inward attention is collecting, uniting ,contracting, thickening, strengthening ,

both are natural attributes , having their application as appropriate—

With appropriate training, one can do multitasking

Multi-processing simultaneous is the ability of the outward, catering to different needs at a time

i may be typing, but i am listening to music too now-----

-I said attention is power , it is the ability to channelizing the energy

eg awareness is split in playing tabala to two hands,

and the energy is delivered in strong or weak doses on both tabala and baaya

and at different times in laya, like thali and khali, with more and with less strong strokes

one learns this splitting of attention ,and in the time frame and gives the various types of thaals, and in madhya laya, druth laya etc

here he is not uniform or strong in the beam of attention but divides splits breaks, at will weakens it, strengthens it , and with speed .

when zakeer hussain accompanies a sitar, his ears are receiving, his hands are delivering , some times eyes are at the audience, some times at sitar player, some times closed .

here you see the master artist he is the expert in handling attention , to weaken or strengthen hence the relevance of my word weakening

eg if he is weakening at thali, then his performance is dull

if he is strengthening at khaali , he is wrong also

so the art is nothing but mastery over attention and life is art

1 tasks becomes too taxing, since exhausted / weakened by over-spending, so ,'' stand at ease '' is the intelligent command to get it back again

2 the one who has connected with his source can perform without relenting, with the same enthusiasm, here the fountain is open, so spending is replenished continuously,

hence the joy riders and pilots even workaholics persist in hours of performance

3 mastery over attention makes the activity self driven automatic, effortless, untiring hence the relevance of the dictum ''karma sukaushalam

4 on a painting'/drawing/ any art, value is proportional to the attention given to the detail and the perspective

career growth is dependent on more attentive contribution than just attendance signing

5 relevant are two phrase

pay attention=spending of our wealth

seek attention=earning from others wealth

and such other phrases and so we thank for considered responses

We must understand this subject nicely

art of life is art of handling attention

the more one learns this ''know how '', on the ways and nature of attention, the more powerful one becomes .

1 the one strong beam of attention from individual being branches and goes out thru all organs of perception and action , and also from every particle of body, like an aura in fact it goes out like the rays from a burning wood , in different quantities from its surface , some in large beams in one direction, and some in small feeble beams, and some with least strong beam in other directions in all beings

maximum attention goes out thru eyes that is why sarvendrianam nayanam pradhanam

and the beams of lower intensity goes thru limbs, senses, skin, hair, nails in the hair, and nails it is the least intense , weak

the moment one looks at the star, first the attention goes to the star in instant

and then the signal enters instantly thru eyes so it is both ways , to and fro, in and out going

1 spending of attention must be economical , should not be wasted

2 once attention is spent one becomes exhausted and tired

3 hence for economizing, closing the eyes now and then , when not using , helps

4 for recharging one must go inward

5 hence all our traditions have been to close the eyes, do some meditation, get the system charged and come out to spend again

i surmise , , in doing folded hands namasthe, we just reduce the outflow, to reduce thru feet we wear some wooden/leather footwear, paduka,

6 games for children are to develop multi tasking, by learning handling of awareness thru all limbs

7dance is an expression of mastery over attention A

Ajamila is a figure from the Puranas. The story of Ajamila is taken from Bhagavata Purana Canto 6.[1]

Ajamila was raised according to the Vedic regulations. He was a perfectly trained Brahmin and had a chaste and beautiful wife.

But one day, while he was out in the fields collecting flowers for worshipping the Lord, he happened to see a drunken sudra and a prostitute engaged in sexual embrace. Ajamila became bewildered and attracted; his mind becoming more and more attached to the prostitute.

In Bhagavad-Gita

it is said that if one contemplates sense objects, he becomes attached to them.

Although Ajamila was a strict Brahmin he became helplessly entangled by seeing a man and woman engaged in sexual activity.

Consequently he took this prostitute into his home as a maidservant. Inevitably, he became so entangled that he abandoned his family, wife and children and went off with the prostitute. Due to his illicit connection with the prostitute, he lost all his good qualities. He became a thief, a liar, a drunkard, even a murderer. He completely forgot about his original training as a Brahmin, and his whole life was ruined.

Engaging in sinful activities, Ajamila fell down from his position, and he begot many children through the prostitute. Even towards the end of his life, around the age of eighty, he was still begetting children. It is explained that while he was dying, which is a very fearful time,

he began to call out to his pet child, whose name was Narayana.

Narayana is another name of God or Krishna.

At that time, the Yamadutas, the messengers of death, were coming. They were tying up the subtle body of Ajamila and preparing to take him to be punished by Yamaraja, the lord of death.

At the same time, because he happened to be speaking the holy name of the Lord Narayana, the beautiful Visnudutas

the messengers of Krishna,

also arrived there.

They checked the activities of the Yamadutas, refusing to allow them to take Ajamila for punishment. The Yamadutas were bewildered. "Why are these effulgent and beautiful personalities checking our action? It's our duty to take sinful men to Yamaraja for punishment; then they are awarded another material body for the next life so that they can get the result of their sinful activity." There was a discussion between the Yamadutas and the Visnudutas. The conclusion was that although Ajamila was sinful throughout his life and gave up his religious life, his wife and children and begot children through a prostitute, he nevertheless was purified from all these sins because at the last moment he chanted the holy name of Krishna, Narayana. If this single act of the utterance of a four-syllable word Narayana can make such a difference to life after death, what larger worlds of fullness and majesty he may not conquer by really leading a noble life of Dharma in the memory of the Lord? -- so thought Ajamila. And that very moment he renounced everything to which he was attached, went to Benares and engaged himself in austerities and meditation and in due time reached the abode of the Lord. It is noteworthy that a wrongdoer is given a chance to correct himself and thereafter lead a virtuous life before attaining salvation. It is not as if the Lord gives him a boon because he uttered the Lord's name when death was nearing him. It was the resultant of his previous good deeds that helped him to remember who he was and then get back to his previous position. Yet he had to struggle again and do enough penance before he could get salvation.

  artificiality is unnatural

nature is intelligent to provide the required----what when how much to whom why where and how to provide
a being is nourished/provided for in the womb, .---in the home by parents---in the out side world as he grows---all in different but best suited----
and intelligence and limbs to be self sufficient ---sends us out into a bigger school, the world, it teaches with love slap and cane
let us be with it receiving what is given , not regretting with what is not given

a higher wisdom is to know how to be in the lap of nature always, in its ever loving care .that is thru meditation, taking us right to the center of our being where all the laws of nature exist in a unified way and mind contacts that source and gains the ability to be familiar with all the laws of nature , and thus live a life with all blessings spontaneously, effortlessly, without the occasion to undergo suffering or without the need of struggle to overcome difficulties

  Akshara

How one perceives others's intention is a complex phenomena,
intentions can be any by any one , but perception of that by other man matters, who sees good or bad in it , but not to the one who does his task what his intention may be .
also any task has an intention . i read a lot , but i do not just read as a hobby to idle away time , my intention is to widen my horizon, but my colleague who generally skips reading tells me that i am a book worm

in my early days, i saw good handwriting of my friend. i felt why not i ?
i did it , i showed to him , instead of appreciating, and taking it as an incentive to improve further , may be he felt i am maligning him and stopped friending with me , but i just did not bother for appreciation or criticizing even to day i can write beautifully, and i find handwriting is a great joy , and art , i simply love . to write beautiful hand writing with a relish, in any language

so the spur to excel is the point , competition , yes, it is a spur
do not bother on perceptions of others , even evaluation by others is meaningless, best criteria is , whether you are deriving joy or not
anando brahma, creating newness in every task , reaching higher and higher higher heights is just blissful

atmagyan

is such a vast knowledge requiring many many lives of study and experimentation

...so the wise seer-scientists have made it most simple,

easy, gainable almost instantly, with ease,

within the comforts of home, they have given the know-how to gain

in the tradition of guru parampara, ,

no need for going to forest,

nor stand on head down,

nor waiting for years and decades.

..........what it is can be known thru direct experience only,

.

where as

the effects of /benefits of atmagyan are infinite,

can be elaborated in words songs, dance, art , and what not

..........caution……. scripture reading will not deliver it

......but gaining atmagyan , all scriptures will become superfluous like the primary school books for a learned professor

unfortunately , present times is in darkness except a few small candle lights some where

but not enough to illumine the world

hence crimes, problems, diseases, poverty, war ,violence, vices are repeating endlessly

no need to reinvent, atmagyan is now available worldwide thru internet communication and distant learning.

...only one has to be a little more serious in pursuing his inner urge to know atmagyan and take next step of finding a guide thru some exploration

  Anonymity A Great Liberator

Identity biases one, creates inhibitions,

freedom is restricted in expression, and natural behavior gets distorted
identity of age, gender, qualification, profession, nationality, religion
biases one to express and biases the readers perceptions too…
i feel to remain unknown and to talk to an unknown

” freedom from the known” is a joy , a charm, freely exploring the ideas ,
since—– exploring the persons–not our purpose

what is said is important
who said is not important

god remains ever an unknown anamika,
yet creating all names and forms , coming in different
avathars, not sticking to any one identity
hence remains an eternal charm,

we have not met on earth plane, in person, it is not necessary, it will inhibit , hence i discourage, i am talking to a mental image of an individual , in my mind , a relation in anonymity is a very sacred divine relation,

in meeting in person our attention goes out wards to the biodata aspects,

in anonymity the attention goes inward to the briefest conception, like that of the god’s

we are leaving behind all attributes except the”silent” conversation, it is like self talking to itself

in meeting in person all factors like expectations obligations protocol, social formalities ….several …..come between the persons ,

in anonymity it is totally soul to soul, at one’s wish and will, nothing to lose or gain

, in fact i wrote thousands of blogs as a result of web dialogs ,with unknown persons,, i expanded a lot of seed ideas ,composed poems just like that

but
with my known colleagues and classmates, in fb, my interactions are just utilitarian, and formal,
no excitement of inner discoveries ,
it is only outward travel, with them, am not enthused

that is why it said, ”familiarity breeds contempt”

……………but rare unforgettable exceptions, also are there , i used to have meetings in canteen, or lunch breaks, with colleagues, kantiraju, on music, ravichandra, on adishankara, vs sudhakar..bankim reddy

”if the levels are different .”………it’s a blessing, an opportunity, a flow happens, hence the guru parampara to flow and unite with the ocean

”familiarity breeds contempt”, but also ”familiarity breeds tempt” , one wants to be so familiar and so intimate with the own self , ultimate of familiarity is union

Familiarity
There is a comfort in familiarity, an at home feeling, a feeling of security, a feeling of reaching home back, when we meet known people, our near and dear, our friend circle,
In a song there is sthayee, anthara, sthayee is home , anthara…See More

also when we come back to shadjam, at the end of song, we feel good amount of relief, relaxation, exhilaration , as if we achieved a success

also in thaane, we again come back to sthayee, and start fresh thaane

though familiar an old song takes one into a dream of memories, ie a bit away from the ”shackles of the inescapable present situation of the present moment

here comes the relevance of /significance of repeating the most familiar , the same nama/ stothra of gods , instead of every time a new name and a new stothra …..since one feels an identity of oneself with that god , hence a nice feel
So familiarity breeds tempt, it is charming

after matured sadhana, heightened awareness gets stabilized in all our activities, 24 h , in sleep dream wake states , and one experience wakefulness continuously, he hears even his snore, sees his sleep, & dream while body remains in sound sleep  hence devathas are said to be artha nimeelitha nethra or animesha, non blink

an enlightened individual will be at ease with every one in every situation
and keeps everyone at ease in every situation

himself going upwards and forwards,
and taking every one along with him by pulling or pushing as needed

After getting self realization- only it is truly possible with heart fully in love to share, with hands fully in abundance of resources, sufficient for all and without concern and care for my little needs for a few morsels and a piece of cloth and a patch of shade so i repeat, first self realization-----the horse before later selfless service the -------------the cart

i cannot imagine the possibility of moving cart placed before the horse   this point to be really understood thoroughly, even by the best masters who preach selflessness and virtues to attain mukthi,

whereas the selfless ness and all the virtues blossom only after and as a result of realizing the self, the source of all virtues

age does not decide

Younger are waking up finding ways to assert like anna fans
but, truth is , age does not decide , it's wisdom that one attains that propels the changes, irrespective of bio age
an old can be as ignorant as the young, in matters of sensual attractions, and equally , young can be as ignorant as the old as long as wisdom does not dawn

chalam talked sense in the beginning days
later the same chalam talked more than the usual sense
what made the difference

muppaala ranganayakamma , not young, but said ramayana maha visha vrikshamu

so not the age is the criteria what do you say

Who propelled anna , not the youth, only his wisdom
he propelled the youth
kiran bedi is not old as anna, yet a force by herself

Human bomb who is responsible, not the youth, innocent,
the negative seeds planted in them , tho free of cost, has costed their own life and the life of countless in wtc

is not youth ready to jump in to action.
by why , in the wrong direction

how in the environ created by adults, with nude photos and movies with vulgar dialogs , obscene dances--can they come out for right causes

so i am for right guidance from the wisest souls young or old, to all in the society to propel all to the goal of life, not expecting the youth to do this way or that way

give the right inputs right output is natural as a bright day , after the darkest night
