Advaita Vedanta states that the soul is identical with god. 

Dvaita states that the soul is separate from god, yet that the soul is created by god.

  Attention is the most valuable possession  

attention has two characteristics, outward and inward 

outward attention is branching, splitting, widening, , expanding, thinning, weakening, 

inward attention is collecting, uniting ,contracting, thickening, strengthening , 

both are natural attributes , having their application as appropriate—

With appropriate training, one can do multitasking  

Multi-processing simultaneous is the ability of the outward, catering to different needs at a time 

i may be typing, but i am listening to music too now-----

-I said attention is power , it is the ability to channelizing the energy  

eg awareness is split in playing tabala to two hands, 

and the energy is delivered in strong or weak doses on both tabala and baaya 

and at different times in laya, like thali and khali, with more and with less strong strokes  

one learns this splitting of attention ,and in the time frame and gives the various types of thaals, and in madhya laya, druth laya etc  

here he is not uniform or strong in the beam of attention but divides splits breaks, at will weakens it, strengthens it , and with speed . 

when zakeer hussain accompanies a sitar, his ears are receiving, his hands are delivering , some times eyes are at the audience, some times at sitar player, some times closed .

here you see the master artist he is the expert in handling attention , to weaken or strengthen hence the relevance of my word weakening  

eg if he is weakening at thali, then his performance is dull

if he is strengthening at khaali , he is wrong also  

so the art is nothing but mastery over attention and life is art  

1 tasks becomes too taxing, since exhausted / weakened by over-spending, so ,'' stand at ease '' is the intelligent command to get it back again 

 2 the one who has connected with his source can perform without relenting, with the same enthusiasm, here the fountain is open, so spending is replenished continuously, 

hence the joy riders and pilots even workaholics persist in hours of performance  

3 mastery over attention makes the activity self driven automatic, effortless, untiring hence the relevance of the dictum ''karma sukaushalam 

 4 on a painting'/drawing/ any art, value is proportional to the attention given to the detail and the perspective  

career growth is dependent on more attentive contribution than just attendance signing  

5 relevant are two phrases

pay attention=spending of our wealth 

seek attention=earning from others wealth  

and such other phrases  and so we thank for considered responses 

We must understand this subject nicely  

art of life is art of handling attention  

the more one learns this ''know how '', on the ways and nature of attention, the more powerful one becomes . 

1 the one strong beam of attention from individual being branches and goes out thru all organs of perception and action , and also from every particle of body, like an aura  in fact it goes out like the rays from a burning wood , in different quantities from its surface , some in large beams in one direction, and some in small feeble beams, and some with least strong beam in other directions  in all beings 

maximum attention goes out thru eyes  that is why sarvendrianam nayanam pradhanam  

and the beams of lower intensity goes thru limbs, senses, skin, hair, nails  in the hair, and nails it is the least intense , weak 

 the moment one looks at the star, first the attention goes to the star in instant  

and then the signal enters instantly thru eyes so it is both ways , to and fro, in and out going  

1 spending of attention must be economical , should not be wasted  

2 once attention is spent one becomes exhausted and tired 

3 hence for economizing, closing the eyes now and then , when not using , helps 

4 for recharging one must go inward 

 5 hence all our traditions have been to close the eyes, do some meditation, get the system charged and come out to spend again  

 i surmise , , in doing folded hands namasthe, we just reduce the outflow, to reduce thru feet we wear some wooden/leather footwear, paduka, 

6 games for children are to develop multi tasking, by learning handling of awareness thru all limbs 

7dance is an expression of mastery over attention

Strictures are violated

observation, absorption, digestion,

   any amount of reading/writing  will lead us nowhere, it should lead us to a guru who only can clarify , not alone by theory ,but ,more important, by practice and direct experience thru which ability will be gained to see things like in day light, instantly, by switching on the light. it all depends on us how serious are we, and on what the purpose of life is otherwise it is a wasted effort resulting in no gain at the end

'''Personally, I am no advocate of violence. But violence, too, has its rightful place in life, life does not preclude death. The average Indian has been molded into a particular national mentality of quixotic tolerance. His attitude is shaped into its distinct pattern by the ideologies and moralities preached in our national literature. And no single work in our classics has gained such a wide influence on our people as the Bhagawad Gita: and in, this century, no other single message had such a universal appeal to our countrymen as the single line, "Ahimsa Paramo Dharmah" -- "Non - Violence is the greatest Dharma."

This line in its over – emphasis, has sapped both initiative and energy in our millions, and, instead of making us all irresistible moral giants, we have been reduced to poltroons and cowards. And banking on this cowardly resignation of the majority, a handful of fanatics have been perpetrating crimes which even the most barbarous cave dwellers would have avenged. To clothe our weaknesses, we attribute to them glorious names and purposefully persuade ourselves to believe that they are brilliant ideologists !

Let us for a moment go to the original sacred verse and investigate the significances of the moral precept: 

Ahimsa Paramo Dharmah. 

This is the opening line of a stanza, 

and the very next line reads: 

Dharma himsaa tathaiva cha. “

So too is all righteous violence.” 

Indeed, non – violence is the supreme policy to be adopted by man to foster enduring peace in the world; but there are certain dire moments in the life of individuals, as of nations, when we will have to meet force with force in order that justice be done.

To every individual his mother, wife and children are the nearest dependents and to guard their honor and life is the unavoidable first moral duty of each head of the family. This is an obligation whether the victim be a member of the majority or of the minority class within a country, province or city.

By the over – emphasis laid on non – violence we have come to witness the pathetic situation of today, when thousands, in cowardly fear take to precipitate flight, leaving their innocent children to be butchered and their unarmed helpless women to be dishonored or converted or killed. Under the cloak of glorified non – violence, an entire nation of cowards fly from their homes, when a small sect of fanatic barbarians boldly stalk in and out of their open undefended thresholds to kill, to rape, and to loot.

 

When will we learn to fully interpret our Vedas, scriptures and Upanishads. If only we all learn that dharma-himsa is equally noble as ahimsa.

To me it seems that the only solution for the day’s internal chaos is to bring home to the people the significance of the much neglected teaching of dharma- himsa. As it is, a misled and over – excited minority in the country has the sole monopoly of violence; and non – violence is a dangerous folly. However ideal a moral precept may be, so long as, in a society, innocent children, helpless women and defenseless old are left to be butchered dishonored and tortured, while the youth of the land is made to watch dispassionately the hellish scene, we are to conclude that either the idea is a dangerous one, or that we have not rightly understood the full meaning of the precept.

Under the present available scheme of chaos in this country, when under the planned instigation of a few power blind, reckless men, a minority community is rendered into a murderous gang of fanatics; it is the duty of the majority to win back the erring thousands. The cure depends upon the disease; the potency of the medicine is decided upon the virulence of the illness. Today when looting, arson and rape are the dharma of a few, it is rank cowardice for the many to suffer the tyranny of the unprovoked violence in meek submission. In the battlefield, when violence is rampant, it is the dharma of everyone to meet that maniacal violence with determined, restrained, violence not only in self defense but also to convince the aggressive vicious few that ‘it rarely pays ''…unquote

   atmagyan 

is such a vast knowledge requiring many many lives of study and experimentation 

...so the wise seer-scientists have made it most simple, 

easy, gainable almost instantly, with ease, 

within the comforts of home, they have given the know-how to gain 

in the tradition of guru parampara, , 

no need for going to forest, 

nor stand on head down, 

nor waiting for years and decades.

..........what it is can be known thru direct experience only,

.

where as 

the effects of /benefits of atmagyan are infinite, 

can be elaborated in words songs, dance, art , and what not

..........caution……. scripture reading will not deliver it 

......but gaining atmagyan , all scriptures will become superfluous like the primary school books for a learned professor

unfortunately , present times is in darkness except a few small candle lights some where 

but not enough to illumine the world 

hence crimes, problems, diseases, poverty, war ,violence, vices are repeating endlessly

no need to reinvent, atmagyan is now available worldwide thru internet communication and distant learning.

...only one has to be a little more serious in pursuing his inner urge to know atmagyan and take next step of finding a guide thru some exploration

   Ashramas

Ashrama dharma is fundamental to the Hindu society. It divides man’s life into four stages and specifies what one should do in each of the stages. Historically, it was only few Brahmanas who were found to make it through all the four ashramas. Kshatriyas of yore, used to make it to vanaprastha. Vanaprastha was even more a rare case in Vaisyas.

Brahmacarya

In this stage, one does academic learning. He should go to a guru and learn what is prescribed for him. After some basic education he would move to some specialization based on his interest and performance. This is a stage of learning and celibacy (Rules in Manusmriti 2.173-249). Upanayana or initiation should happen at 5-16 years of age (Manu 2.36-40). Upon completion of study, one should take up grhastha ashrama (Manu 3.1-4).

Grhastha

Grhastha ashrama is the center stage; it is the phase where a person contributes most to the society. For this reason, the Kalpa Sutras devote an entire book Grihya Sutras, for the householder. He sustains the society, financially and otherwise (Manu 6.89-90). Unless in exceptional cases, one is not permitted to bypass this ashrama.

One is supposed to base his pursuits on Dharma, and fulfill his desires. This is a stage of fulfillment. Both purusharthas, Artha and Kama, are to be served here, based on Dharma, the first purushartha. This ensures the fourth, which is Moksha.

Grhastha should perform five sacrifices every day (panca maha yajnas), to please gods, rishis, departed fathers, fellow men, and other living creatures. One is said to be indebted to all these. One’s debts towards his departed fathers are cleared at the end of this ashrama. One is also prescribed eight activities a day, which can be classified into worshipping and pursuing profession/occupation (Manusmriti chapters 3-5).

Having lived half his life, one should take up vanaprastha ashrama (Manu 5.169).

Vanaprastha

At this stage one gives his property to his heirs or donates it, goes into seclusion, and does penance. One becomes inward looking. He still contributes with his experience, through advice and teaching. Having fulfilled his desires in the previous ashrama, one is expected to win over senses and sensuous pleasures. Thus his work is also more dispassionate and detached, as he does not seek any specific result from the work. It will be for the benefit of society alone. Though one is supposed to celibate, he is not required to renounce or live alone. One can take his wife or live with any other person. One is also permitted to earn his livelihood though not to save/accumulate. But unless there is a specific need, he does not enter the city – usually people needing a vanaprasthi’s advice go to him instead of him visiting people.

One still has debts towards rishis and gods at this stage, and does teach as well as performs sacrifices to propitiate the devatas. His primary debt towards pitris is cleared as he obtains progeny and raises them in grhastha ashrama, though he continues giving oblations to pitris during vanaprastha (Manu 6.1-32).

Sanyasa

In this stage one renounces the world and detaches from his social and family relations. One should not earn in this stage, or have any material possession of his own. Whatever few attachments he has with his relations or social ambitions are also given up. Man does all work purely for moksha at this stage. Technically, a sanyasi has no debts, and lives only as long as his karmaphala remains.

In general, Brahmacarya and Grhastha ashramas are seen as Pravritti dharma. Vanaprastha and Sanyasa are nivritti dharma for man (Manu 6.33 – 86).

A person who has taken sanyasa is considered to be outside of the four varnas.

       

after matured sadhana, heightened awareness gets stabilized in all our activities, 24 h , in sleep dream wake states , and one experience wakefulness continuously, he hears even his snore, sees his sleep, & dream while body remains in sound sleep  hence devathas are said to be artha nimeelitha nethra or animesha, non blink

     Aadi , sanathan, original,

 Aadi , sanathan, original, oldest, ancient, origin, the source, the para , the unmanifest, absolute is the most beautiful, charming, powerful, worth gaining worth striving for anything else is lesser

Para though, it is the puraana, oldest, it is the newest

every moment it updates gets renewed, 

reborn thru you and me and all nonstop

     Aham taking association with an identity, creates the ego, 

the individual entity

Child is just without ego, without an identity, though he cries, gestures, moves, asserting his existence and seeking fulfillment of its little needs like food and comfort etc 

Slowly gradually he comes to know the world, and starts assuming various roles as he grows

he thinks he is child, the son of mother, student, friend, playmate, belonging to a community , relative of so and so, then further, when grows , a doctor, a artist, a teacher, a employee , a citizen, and so on 

these identities cover his real nature. He starts living those identities and strengthens them too, to an extent that he becomes a prisoner of his id's .bound unable to come out

Loses freedom, loses opportunities to lead a real life, loses the great game of life, loses life

It not, identifies with the outer world, but with one aspect of/ or a few aspects of own total personality, mostly it goes with a name and linked with biodata

i am gopal, i am a marati, i am a lawyer, 

the tendency is to reinforce that one or few identities, ignoring the infinite aspects of his potentialities 

eg as a lawyer, he may ignore the artist aspect etc 

also, 

as one reinforces that identity, say an artist, he grows to a greatest artist--this is positive aspect of the identities

name and fame thus help and unhelp such celebrities 

the need is not to be associated with one / few , but to ever refreshing oneself , get born again as a new child , with a clean slate

as the refreshing phenomena happens continuously, one rises into his deeper unmanifest personality, ie, the rishi aspect , and grows to maharishi, brahmarshi, which means, an individual without his earthly identity / existence, but the real true nature the just awareness/ knowingness, with all potentialities alive and can be activated at will and can be lived as a man of ''bahumukha pragna'', as if an actor who is expert playing any role impeccably 

also, such personality can express his message which has many/ infinite hues meanings, imports channels simultaneously , making him a ''panditha paamara jana ranjaka at the same time in one stroke 

so the art of id's is 

born as no id

acquires id

discards/comes out limiting id

becomes capable of assuming any id as per context, with all freedom 

and again discarding that id and get refreshed into non id

1 any ego id miniaturizes the infinite personality if growth is stuck up on the way, ends up as miniature small ego , man dies as a just ordinary common fellow with small little achievements 

2 if the same ego id is allowed to grow, --if one knows how to make it grow----then that small ego/id can grow to infinite stature like a vishvaroop --ie with a roop ---as big as the universe

artist can grow into a genius ravi varma and more , 

scientist can grow into Einstein and more

politician can grow into a world statesman and more

human can grow into an avathar 

To sum up

ego is both blessing and harm

one must be a master who can easily change/remove one robe and wear another robe

all with own will and freedom 

with this if one is given a name as vishvanath, he can grow / he is meant to grow really as lord of universe

if one is given the name as shiva, he can grow/ he is meant to grow really as lord shiva

     A little Knowledge is not enough. Partial truths remove partial ignorance,

we have enough of partial truths , but misery continues, mystery persists.

total knowledge is the requirement to remove total ignorance, 

to gain total mastery, to be in freedom ever

I understand darkness on two levels

1---physical--Darkness all is ever pervading.--see the space infinite, excepting a few galaxies it is infinite darkness 

rightly --it is the "darkness" that contains everything... including the "light".----the galaxies are contained in infinite expanse of darkness---this is inescapable truth--i am not glorifying, it's a glory by itself

2---psychological --using darkness to symbolize catastrophe, ignorance, dullness etc. this is just a tool , a metaphor/simile for poetic expression of feelings

so, also one rightly said --- "darkness", since because it contains the light too with in it, treats light as its child and gives way for "light" to get the glory.

galaxies before born, it was only the empty space, mother of which the light emitting suns stars were children. 

it has a point of view , nice and has a truth 

we refer here the knowledge as light and ignorance as darkness --ok in its usual idiom in our conversation.

masters 's language is always mysterious to seekers, they express words which have meaning ,beyond the literal , having its own contextual profundity 

summing up , all is ok, but we must go to the ultimate of all knowledge, the absolute, 

knowing which, no trace of ignorance is left for ever ,

requiring no debate , arguments and commentaries 

and start living the life of enlightened gnyani ,the absolute, and achieve that level 

and not stop at oil lamp or candle light, not even flood light, 

but to the brightest sunlight, the pure awareness, the dispeller of all darkness

i  realize partial truths are valuable too, yes, helping me to earn and stay alive.

but , it's due to my lack of not knowing the total knowledge, in earliest in life, that i became dependent on partial, unable to conquer ahaara, nidra, bhaya, remained dependent on essentials, food, cloth, shade

ancient valmiki lived beyond these, how?

recent akka mahadevi lived beyond these ,how?

so total knowledge eliminates the need for parial knowledge , by better ways, without struggle for existence, ayur ,aarogya, aiswarya coming to us just wishing , not doing any thing 

it is this lack needs to be fulfilled, 

otherwise with partial knowledge one may earn black money , command all the best luxury . yet he has to be in jail, in shame, in misery

that is the value of partial in compare with total knowledge,

yateenaam brahma bhvathi sarathi, ----fulfilling his every wish, this is the great wisdom, knowing which every thing becomes known

     As one drives ..( handle car driving ) the car....reflects handling the life ......’’

 ow truth works in life.

The individual’s style of working / living  is in fact a reflection of his level of truth , it reflects invariably in his every thinking, talking, doing and decides the effectiveness, correctness, and has a bearing on quality of output / consequences / results

The activity can be any thing, profound or trivial, routine or special

Truth reflects on its own in every movement, sitting, standing, walking, writing, speaking, cooking, etc, the level of truth imparts a corresponding degree of grace / beauty /richness, which is clearly perceptible, and so distinguishes the truthful individual from the rest

Conversely, one’s way of handling the life reflects

how ‘’one drives ..( handle car driving ) the car’’

seeing the episodes of repeated road accidents/ crimes/cheating/gender assaults/fire accidents /corruption etc , leads one to conclude that all is not well in the way human is handling his life

a more truthful way of living is the need of present times

    analysis is science........synthesis is art........engineering is to learn the science and then design and manufacture products 

analysis is to find the truth., including due experimentation,/measurements, comparison... using rationality, common sense, intelligence, logic, science, experience..................not to be content with simple acceptance, and get deluded. .it is alertness at work evaluating the true worth ….most essential....... 

and then

 launch up on synthesis, to evolve solutions for problems, design and create desired products of utility and value, and serve the society / even market it for advantageous use

How to enhance and practice analytical and critical thinking?.

A piece of burning coal, cinder, will burn our hands. But a cold coal blackens the hand, makes it dirty. Similarly, making enemy of an evil person will cause us harm. Making friends with them will give us ill-repute. So we should avoid them altogether as much as possible.

  Any effort means absolutely nothing

until one gets help from a living master,

it is much easier to understand the process 

and proceed and succeed with help of a living master, guru or guide.

but to me it's just a common sense, 

to go to Calcutta as per my need, and target

i definitely need to know from someone who knows on the travel 

the trains, the flights, the buses, the bikes, the carts,

and the routes, the costs, the risks , the advantages,

i cannot be standing on the cross roads , and walking on the stray ways , hoping to reach , but 

may be i may succeed late years ,

or even may not succeed 

though i put in all the sincere effort 

with full devotion and absolute faith in my effort 

one is free to choose any thing

result depend on right choice

    Aadi , sanathan, original,

 Aadi , sanathan, original, oldest, ancient, origin, the source, the para , the unmanifest, absolute is the most beautiful, charming, powerful, worth gaining worth striving for anything else is lesser

Para though, it is the puraana, oldest, it is the newest

every moment it updates gets renewed, 

reborn thru you and me and all nonstop

    any amount of reading/writing  will lead us nowhere, it should lead us to a guru who only can clarify , not alone by theory ,but ,more important, by practice and direct experience thru which ability will be gained to see things like in day light, instantly, by switching on the light. it all depends on us how serious are we, and on what the purpose of life is otherwise it is a wasted effort resulting in no gain at the end

  alphabets and what

in silence sprouts a alpha

alpha changes to beta, gama, ......

alphabets have no meaning

are few , limited

words made of such have meaning

are numerous, dictionary is bulky, but has a beginning and an end

sentences made of such have a thought, 

are countless, unending as thoughts , flow as streams,

paragraph, poem, essay made of such have message, inspiration, 

unlimited possibilities, enormous ,oh they run as river

story, novel, epic, episodes, books, of science, tech, history, have knowledge, wisdom, power infinite , capturing the life, 

and all its beauty, charm, mystery, tumultuous flood, 

singing, roaring, rushing, 

all to find fulfillment in discovering the ocean, of waves, 

of unfathomable depth, the ocean of silence

from silence to silence

individual silence in search of of universal silence

     Absolute Truth is again Omniscient, Omnipotent force God.

so, 

put the best priority should be 

to know it

to experience it 

to own it

to live it

how

if you know the way proceed

if not, search and find a qualified guide, 

without wasting time in talk , 

aimless, endless, 

on issues useless

     absolute is charming most

prahlada, hiranyakashapa ..

both are going towards him..

faster or slower

every one is wanting to go to it 

and are going to it 

with or without their efforts or knowledge

every impulse of growth 

every expression of growth is taking us nearer to it 

even the writing of this cognition is taking me towards it 

here is the inspiration for writers, artists, scientists, everyone

If not , the enigma of i can never get reconciled

   Aham taking association with an identity, creates the ego, 

the individual entity

Child is just without ego, without an identity, though he cries, gestures, moves, asserting his existence and seeking fulfillment of its little needs like food and comfort etc 

Slowly gradually he comes to know the world, and starts assuming various roles as he grows

he thinks he is child, the son of mother, student, friend, playmate, belonging to a community , relative of so and so, then further, when grows , a doctor, a artist, a teacher, a employee , a citizen, and so on 

these identities cover his real nature. He starts living those identities and strengthens them too, to an extent that he becomes a prisoner of his id's .bound unable to come out

Loses freedom, loses opportunities to lead a real life, loses the great game of life, loses life

It not, identifies with the outer world, but with one aspect of/ or a few aspects of own total personality, mostly it goes with a name and linked with biodata

i am gopal, i am a marati, i am a lawyer, 

the tendency is to reinforce that one or few identities, ignoring the infinite aspects of his potentialities 

eg as a lawyer, he may ignore the artist aspect etc 

also, 

as one reinforces that identity, say an artist, he grows to a greatest artist--this is positive aspect of the identities

name and fame thus help and unhelp such celebrities 

the need is not to be associated with one / few , but to ever refreshing oneself , get born again as a new child , with a clean slate

as the refreshing phenomena happens continuously, one rises into his deeper unmanifest personality, ie, the rishi aspect , and grows to maharishi, brahmarshi, which means, an individual without his earthly identity / existence, but the real true nature the just awareness/ knowingness, with all potentialities alive and can be activated at will and can be lived as a man of ''bahumukha pragna'', as if an actor who is expert playing any role impeccably 

also, such personality can express his message which has many/ infinite hues meanings, imports channels simultaneously , making him a ''panditha paamara jana ranjaka at the same time in one stroke 

so the art of id's is 

born as no id

acquires id

discards/comes out limiting id

becomes capable of assuming any id as per context, with all freedom 

and again discarding that id and get refreshed into non id

1 any ego id miniaturizes the infinite personality if growth is stuck up on the way, ends up as miniature small ego , man dies as a just ordinary common fellow with small little achievements 

2 if the same ego id is allowed to grow, --if one knows how to make it grow----then that small ego/id can grow to infinite stature like a vishvaroop --ie with a roop ---as big as the universe

artist can grow into a genius ravi varma and more , 

scientist can grow into Einstein and more

politician can grow into a world statesman and more

human can grow into an avathar 

To sum up

ego is both blessing and harm

one must be a master who can easily change/remove one robe and wear another robe

all with own will and freedom 

with this if one is given a name as vishvanath, he can grow / he is meant to grow really as lord of universe

if one is given the name as shiva, he can grow/ he is meant to grow really as lord shiva
